SUFFERING SOULS is pretty old German band, which was established back in 1994 from the ashes of band called DISMAL (anonymous for me too)! But I never heard them before get this promoCD… Germany have many styles bands, and now we speak about Symphonic black metal. What to say? Musician’s mature is pretty visible, as we got pretty professional stuff in both composing and technical means. Music is made in such fast way, with great keyboard’s layer and pretty interesting whole sounds. With enough of tempo-changes and good scream vocals. I like also guitar solos, they are not too long, but sounds very deep and memorable. The only thing I’m not agree is album title, I don’t know what musicians would like to say by this name but from my personal point of view, such title would looks better for some old-school dirty black-death metal band, but, we have what we have. Is their music sounds good as for black metal would you ask? Yes, I’ll say to you, music sounds in both obscure and melodic ways, and both of those ways are performed very good and listenable. Dark tunes together with some almost classical tunes and some “brutal” passages are make its work, and thus we got pretty good album into Symphonic black metal style! Germany continues glad fans into various styles!
